BURNOUT BREAKFAST CLUB
Women’s burnout recovery group based in Seattle, WA
ARE YOU RUNNING ON EMPTY?
You wake up tired. You go through the motions. You're doing all the things: work, relationships, responsibilities, but somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like yourself.
What Is Burnout?
Burnout isn't just being stressed or having a busy season. It's what happens when stress goes unresolved for too long; when your body and mind have been running on overdrive without ever getting the chance to fully recover.
Burnout is a state of chronic exhaustion that affects you physically, emotionally, and mentally. It can creep in slowly, or it can hit all at once. And for women especially, it's often invisible, because we've been taught that pushing through is just what we do.
The good news? Burnout is not a personal failure. It's a physiological response. And it can be healed.
Signs You May be Experiencing Burnout:
Exhausted no matter how much you sleep: rest doesn't feel restoring anymore
Emotionally numb or detached: going through the motions but not really present
Irritable or short-tempered: snapping at the people you love over small things
Struggling to concentrate: brain fog, forgetfulness, difficulty making decisions
Feeling like nothing you do is ever enough: a persistent sense of failure or inadequacy
Losing enjoyment in things you used to love: hobbies, relationships, even small pleasures feel flat
Physical symptoms with no clear cause: frequent headaches, getting sick often, tension in your body
Constantly "on" but never productive: busy all the time, but running on fumes
Feeling resentful: toward your job, your relationships, or the demands placed on you
Disconnected from yourself: unsure of who you are outside of what you do for others
If you're nodding along, this group was made for you.
Why Women?
Women experience burnout at disproportionately higher rates than men, and it's not a coincidence. The mental load, the emotional labor, the pressure to do it all and make it look effortless… it adds up.
Our culture often celebrates women who give everything and asks few questions about what it costs them. This group is a space to tell a different story.
About This Group
The Burnout Breakfast Club is grounded in the work of Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily and Amelia Nagoski: a groundbreaking book that explains the science of stress and burnout in women, and what it actually takes to recover.
Together, we'll explore:
The stress cycle: what it is, why it matters, and how to actually complete it
The Human Giver Syndrome: the cultural conditioning that keeps women depleted
Rest, play, and connection: why these aren't luxuries, they're necessities
Your body as an ally: movement, breath, and the nervous system's role in burnout recovery
Meaning and identity: reconnecting with who you are beyond what you do
Community: because healing doesn't happen in isolation
This is not a lecture series. It's a living, breathing space for women to learn, reflect, and support one another.
What to Expect
Format: Like a more intentional book club (yes, we do read the book!). Each week we'll move through a chapter of Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle together. This is a small closed group, meaning the same women meet together for all 8 weeks, creating a foundation of trust and safety.
